UX/UI design: systems people enjoy working with.
A system can work perfectly from a technical standpoint, but if users don't enjoy working with it, a lot of value is still lost. That's why I always look at the user's experience: what does someone need to do their work well, where does confusion arise and which steps can be simpler?
I design user-friendly digital solutions that feel logical and fit daily practice. My background in business analysis helps: I look not just at the screen, but also at the processes, goals and needs behind it.
Does this sound familiar?
- Does a system work technically, but do people avoid or work around it?
- Do users keep asking the same things, or keep making the same mistakes?
- Was an application built without anyone talking to the users?
Then I start with the people who use it, before a single screen is drawn.
Where I can help
User research and interviews
I talk to the people who use the system and watch how they really do their work.
Customer journeys and user flows
Insight into what people have to go through and where it becomes needlessly complicated.
Wireframes and prototypes
Something quick to look at and test, before anything is built.
Interface design (UI)
Screens that are logical, calm and clear, and that a team can build from right away.
Improving existing applications and processes
Sharpening what is already there, without having to rebuild everything.
How I approach it
Listening and watching
I talk to users and watch how the work really goes, before I design.
Sketching and getting reactions
I show wireframes and prototypes to users and the team early, so we can adjust course.
Working it out into something to build
Final screens and user stories, clear enough for the developers.
From practice
Provincie Gelderland
Water quality inspectors needed a system, but the specifications were unclear. Through the product owner and conversations with the inspectors it became clear. Both projects (BKS and Besluiten 2.0) went into production and were well received.
I very much enjoyed working with Nanda. Thanks to her open attitude she quickly builds connections and involves the right people in the organization. She quickly masters the subject matter and delivers clear and useful results.
