Organizations collect more and more data, but don't always know what to do with it. There are plenty of numbers and dashboards. Insight that leads to action is often missing.
I help organizations turn data into useful insights. Not with endless reports, but by finding out which questions really matter and which data answers them. Drawing on my experience as a business analyst, I bring structure to data needs: what do you want to measure, why, and what will you do with it? That way data becomes a tool for decision-making instead of a goal in itself.
The definition of data matters more than you think.
Words everyone uses don't mean the same thing to everyone. Take the word “employee”. For HR it means something different than for finance, because they look at it from a different context.
Count your employees in both departments and you get different numbers, and everyone is a little bit right. That's why I start by agreeing on what a term means, per context, and writing it down. That way teams stop talking past each other and you can trust the figures.

The question first
Which decision needs to be made, and what do you need to know for it?
Then the definitions and the data
What do we mean by a term, in which context and who owns it? After that: what data is there and how good is it? Where something is missing, such as a data policy, we create it.

Dashboards and agreements that fit how people work, so it keeps working after delivery.

HAN, data governance
There was no data policy. I set up a new data governance department, with a team, a way of working and dashboards. The organization handled data responsibly.
